When a gun owner sends cover of a magazine to an engraver he can be setting himself up for sticker shock. Guns on magazine covers often have gold inlays and other very expensive features which drive the cost of the engraving up dramaticly.

It is traditional that gold is installed on each side of a gun and not only on one side.
While Ruger handguns cut nicely, the shotguns and rifles from Ruger need to be cut with an air tool as the steel is very very hard. Ruger shotguns are too dificult to be engraved by hand.
